Completely agree. Growing up we always had lamb and never bothered butchering any of our goats but few years back gave one a go and tasted mint. Will always take the lamb first but definitely will do a goat more often after that

Just to finish the story off. Goat chops for dinners. Enjoyed by everyone, including the "vegetarian" wife

If I'd used my brain instead of my heart when buying and got a .308 instead of 300BLK, I would have sold my Tikka 7mm08 by now as I like the Bergara that much. To be honest, a BA-13 in .308 would cover most of my needs, even occasional deer hunting trips in the central North Island.

    price out a rechambering........

I was really surprised not to see goats around the native when I was on holiday up there a few months back. Lovely place. Hope to go back soon.

@MB what is the 2nd strap on your rifle ?

P.S. agree about 308, after the initial lockdown I ended up getting the 20 inch take down version, it is now my go anywhere, do most things rifle

A lot of people ask that. Have a look at Z-Aim slings on YouTube and you will get the idea. My version cost a few pennies to make and it's awesome!

Nice one MB. I use the Winchester subs in 308 and have the same issues. As soon as my dog is ready for full speed rounds I'll ditch them and use the suppressed 243.

What weight do you have for that bergara?

    Rifle + scope + rings + suppressor + slings + ammo holder (empty) = 3.93kg

    It's a solid little unit.

Cheers. I was thinking of changing but my cheap savage 308 is only a whisker over 6lb with everything on it. They look and feel cool tho, those rifles.
