Very topical. Dropped in at the Sister-In-Laws and they had a 22 projectile that had just been removed from the cats tail. My pick by the flat spot on one edge of the base and the good mushroom on the front is that the it had gone through a rabbit ricocheted and lodged in the cat who was stalking the same rabbit.
This is the exact reason I've dropped some additional dollars on the CCI Subsonic segmented rounds. The segments don't fly too far / well, after hitting something compared to a 40gn lump of lead.

The CCI don't shoot as well as the Winchester unfortunately

Seems to be a very rifle specific thing. I went through most brands until I found one my rifle really liked. CCI came out on top, followed closely by Winchester. Not surprisingly, the Remington ammo was the worst.
