Fiordland diving and hunting (PHOTO ESSAY)

In April i went on a live on board trip to Fiordland, we went across Manapouri and met the boat in Doubtful sound before heading south to Dusky and Breaksea. We were lucky enough to have good weather for a majority of the trip making the 14 degree water a little more inviting* . I have compiled a select few photos from about 3000 to choose from.

    Shot a deer:

Managed to get the odd cray:

    Caught a few fish:

    Saw some other amazing stuff:

    Cheers Nick

Cheers, the rifle i took down south was a .270. Its amazing how strong a worked up stag is, shot him in the chest twice from around 8m to tip him over, he was dead on his feet after the first shot but didnt want him to tumble off the massive bluff below.

Dont worry about that, we divided them up between 10 of us and left a few for the crew. I gave away most of mine to friends and family, as you probably know you can only eat so much crayfish. We all went a bit Crayze at the start as no one had ever seen crays in such high abundance, after a day or two though we were very select with the crays we took and were well and truly under our limit.

Excellent photo's. That is the sort of trip to stick on a bucket list. The only thing missing was the masseuse.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

My advise is just do it, it costs a bit but the memories i have are priceless. This trip was primarily aimed at diving, as there is a wreck in Dusky sound at 60m the guys wanted to dive, i only spent 3 hours on the land and would have loved to spend more time exploring the hills so will be going back to do this.
