Hay mate, trip was organised in Tauranga here through a dive shop,a hell of alot easier then trying to organise it myself. The boat we were on is actually a commercial cod fishing vessel so im not sure whether they organise any trips. I think you would have to approach them with a time and numbers and they will give you a quote based on that.

There is a boat down there called the Takapu that does the season for hunting and diving. (useto anyways but i think it is still running)
They helli you in and out from the boat and for a bit exter you can be droped at the top of the hill in the morning and walk down to the beach to be picked up.

Pretty sure Steve Haddock out of Whakatane had Takapu. It was a bastard of a boat even after it had some stabilizers fitted. Long and skinny. Ex Navy boat IIRC, mind you Id give my first born for another trip on it in its new home down south.
