    First deer

Organized a hunting/fishing/surfing/BBQ weekend for a few work colleagues on the weekend.
One of them shot his first deer at 370yds and we couldn't wipe the smile off his face.
Beautiful weather, great food and plenty of good yarns. Finished off the trip with a very tasty breakfast muffin from Vixen Burger in Featherston, highly recommended.Name: 20220917_085750.jpg

Time will tell. He said we'd converted him from a tramper at least haha

Well that's a bloody good start! Had he shot a rifle much before? Getting your first animal at 370 yards is very impressive. We all know how hard field shooting can be when you already know all of the things you can do to send a shot awry. If you've only just started shooting then the magnitude of the achievement goes up rapidly.

And top marks to you @FRST for organising the weekend for your workmates. Sometimes a bit of exposure to nature can do wonders for one's outlook.

FRST is a man of Service. He has done an incredible amount for hunters through the NZDA.
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.
