    Hunting birds with skis

A little different. Didn't go according to plan (storm had scoured off the snow) but managed to get a bird in the end.
Cold though, froze my ear and three fingers.

Tahr, madjon_, Carbine and 6 others like this.

Fascinating, we only (legally) hunt birds with a shotgun so very different to New Zealand hunting. What was the bird you shot?

That is rock ptarmigan, latin name Lagopus Muta. It is named Lagopus (hare's foot) because of their furry feet. It is a very beautiful bird with excellent meat, a little sweet without being overpowering.

I’m subscribed and watch all your videos, couldn’t help but notice you had some feeding problems with the 221 in a previous video.
Have you got that sorted or is just something you have to live with ?
Love your videos for many reasons not just the rifles . Norway seems like an amazing place, but I think I’ve spent to much time in a hot climate now and your “Cold” would probably kill me .

Great watch, sure looks as if the snow was a bit thin but still looks cold.

Norway is an anemic version of New Zealand with more fish, more oil and more bad weather. There's no reason to visit if you already live in NZ, you got all the nice bits.

The feeding issues was fixed by the gunsmits, haven't had a single misfeed since the rebarrel job (touch wood!)

In the north there's hardly any snow, but cold. Several areas are now loosing drinking water as the supply is freezing solid.

Given up drinking coffee @Norway??? Is this only during these cold months, because its a diuretic? If your ears & three fingers froze....I could see why you would not want to increase the need to piss

Never considered that angle. The problem is more making sure that you clear all layers before you let it rip. With the camera bags I don't really see much, I'm not hung like an elephant.

I stopped drinking coffee because I overdid kt and basically drank my digestion to ruin.
