Funny thing is, the owner of the Prius was the hunter on the far southern part of range we could see and he worked in oil and gas in Taranaki.
Another funny thing is that the guy in the tent we first bumped into was also from Taranaki and worked in oil and gas.

Limited deer hunting over there means this area is the next best thing for them.
