    West Coast Bull Tahr Ballot

First time hunting Tahr on the west coast for me resulted in my PB bull at 7 1/2 years old. We were pretty lucky in making the right choice to come out before the weather bomb that smashed the country over the last two weeks. My 7mm SAUM accounted for three of the four animals shot on the trip and it was pretty interesting to see the effects from the culling. This area had obviously been hit hard as we didn’t see a lot of animals and only a small fraction of those were nannie’s. Lots of lone bulls. I’ll let the vid tell the rest..

Great video. There’s four 7mms in my safe; maybe a SAUM is on the cards.

Very good. 4 of us went in there a few years back, was plenty of good bulls in there. A bloody cold block, and steep in areas too but well worth it if you got into it. Did you get up adverse creek at all?

Yup, that’s where we had the big day in the rain and Cohan and I shot our two bulls

Nice film, thanks for sharing! Here you would need a building permit for that basecamp, what a palace...
