    It's common rail 1KD .
I'm pretty vague on the exact construction.
Seems the hi pressure pump also acts / has a lift pump function & sucks fuel from the tank.

Filter , pump & common rail have assorted sensors & valves.

I was wondering how much help they are in diagnosing what seems to be a lose of prime between the filter filter & the injectors.

possibly internal to the main pump.
As it will start (slowly) but stops.

Then requires a lot of priming on the filter pump.

Prime it first & it's still slow but keeps running.

After frequent use it starts like it should.

Left overnight back to not behaving.

Garage has done lots of these & this seems to be a first.

It doesn't help that it's best left overnight for symptoms to reappear.

Hopefully I'll hear more next week.

I've had a better run out of various Land Rovers.
    AND they respond to hammers.
