Slight thread hijack but does anyone have an opinion (hahaha as if!) on the auto gearboxes in a 95/96 Surf.
I am mechanically retarded and wondered if I was buying a whole lot of trouble with a low Ks Auto Surf?
Cheers
Be aware that the Jeeps have a tendency to break off road and parts tend to be very expensive.
And I think the term you are after is monocoque construction which I'd again avoid for off road use.
The Jeep I saw over he weekend had nothing and I mean NOTHING on je rear end to tow off because of the uni body, only thing under the rear end was the fuel tank...
thanks for all the suggestions guys - i avoided putting too many stipulations at the start to keep the field wide open.
A few "must have's" on my wish list are - reliable, low cost to run (rules out 4L Jeep petrol :ORLY:), manual, parts & servicing available and "cheap".
the blond accessories in fish nets would be a nice upgrade too btw.
Having to be a manual will make the choices a little easier
Go for an auto if you want cheaper to run. Typically you are doing near enough to 1000rpm less at the open road speed limit. I hate autos but my next one will probably be an auto. They are easier for shooting from.
