Selling the quad will take a bit of the sting out of upgrading to a SXS.

Suggestion for you if n when you do get the can am..... Sort out winch properly so you can use the plurry thing to get animals onto tray. Either mounted behind cab or maybe it's possible to work out an up n over the top of cab system??? Possibly through heavy walled curved alkathene??? This way you can avoid that heaveho to get animals onto tray....would also make winching backwards easier. There are good small winches that hook up to battery or ciggy plug etc and hook onto whatever.that might be easier to set up with maybe a boosted strength roll bar? To give you height to pull from. Roof mounted light bar turns night into day, makes spotlights of the 90s look pitiful.
75/15/10 black powder matters
You can get front lifting frames for them now. I saw them advertised for the Fieldays.
Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.

Haven’t personally owned one but Another vote for the Can-am, my mate worked on Owahanga station for years and they had the HD8s and they got a hard time and soaked it up. Driven in the ocean to get down the beach at high tide etc without getting looked after! They Occasionally had to replace a wheel bearing but not much else. Drive belt didn’t like getting wet when someone accidentally put a hole in the cover. Engine and Tran never seemed to give trouble on any of them, they had about 6 of them. They would do about 30,000km in 3 years and then trade them in on new ones.
I saw the title Bruce and was going to say if money isn't an issue, then check out Holland and Holland, or Purdy.
But it appears you're not after that type of side by side.
Overkill is still dead.
Sweet as, you’ll know what the hills are like out there then and they were awesome for stability and hill climbing ability. Greasy steep tracks never worried them. Mate got it stuck a couple of times in deep muddy holes but they had a winch, ya Can’t get out and push like ya can with a quad.
Super easy to drive, I thought the headlights were a bit shit tho, nothing that a small light bar didn’t fix.
I've ridden horses over some very steep country (many years ago mustering in Marlborough and Canterbury, more recently riding in the mountains with cobbers) - country where I wouldn't have dreamed of taking a wheeled vehicle of any sort, and not too many tracked ones.
Recently I hunted with some guys out behind Alexandra, in very steep country. They had two SxSs, and were very confident with them. Steep, up, down, sideways, no problem. Steepish with matagouri cover, no problem, all in all very impressive. It was dry but they would go up untracked faces so steep you'd definitely be leading your horse down. I had severe pucker factor all weekend.
Seeing as so many on here appear to be using the Canam's, here are the only spec tools you need to maintain the transmission: Canam NZ quoted about $650 for both. Got them from Ali Express for less than $150.
There's many YT tutorials on how to do it. Takes less than 45 min the first time you do it. Much faster after that.
i use a zuki for work ,flat deck conversion with mud type tyres . and i go interesting places ..however the SXS with the locked diff and soft tyres will leave it for dead on the farm
now if its a dedicated zuki farm truck - lock the diff and fit those larger type atv tyres you will go in comfort ,warm n dry and no noise of a stationary motor
cheers
another vote for the HD8
Those that can do - Those that can't bitch about those that can
this is what you need goes any were top speed over 160km paddle shifters cost me 20000.00 with trailer so fast I shoot canada geese on the ground before they have time to fly off well passenger does will probably kill myself in it but great fun
