    That's why the old series Landrovers were so good for river crossings - you just open the doors wide open, resting them on the front guards and you let the water run straight through as you crossed the river. This reduced the 'windage' of the water against the side of the vehicle, and washed all the mud off the floor boards and your boots at the same time.
