    Ev's will be the future when batteries costs 1000$ to make, take 20 mins to recharge fully and have a range of 1000km, what we have now is worse for the environment then any petrol or diesel could ever be

    Ev's will become the norm when we have a revolution in batteries and also power generation to feed them

    Agreed - hydrogen technology and development is a more promising option at present due to the ability to retrofit existing vehicles; there are other options out there that are being sidelined as a result of a "pure EV" fixation.....Infrastructure is going to be the next cab off the rank in rolling out new technology and ensuring adoption....

    The Future......CNG, LNG, LPG conversions....not so long ago the Guvmint sudsidised, and promoted these planet saving ideas. Watch this space....!

    The Greenies also don't like discuss how these materials are mined. All for saving the planet and all but at who's cost and I'm not talking financially . Everyone is quick to point out the child/slave labour in China for manufacturing etc to the coffee beans picked in Africa.
    But it seems where technology is involved those things are hidden under the carpets.

    EV's are as reliable as the electricity used to recharge them. Look at Europe and North America where they've been suffering from energy crisis since they tried to go green in some areas, then got worse after the Ukraine kicked off and even more worse now they in a winter blast where they are about to have rolling blackouts. In some places theres not enough charging stations so people have to limit their driving because they can only charge at home. Hydrogen combustion engines are the way to go.

    Just an update, I have now done 1500 kms in the Ute, getting more used to it, because I work around the north waikato area I have used the fast charges at countdown Huntly, never had to wait, and apart from that I charge from a 3 pin plug at the depot.
    Ute drives well, handles great with all the weight down low between the chassis rails,

    Hate to break it to you, but cobalt is used in oil refining and has been for a very long time. De-sulphurisation (sp?). So its been a problem long before EVs came on the scene.
