Your right VC my son got king hit from behind in the street by a stranger, unconscious on his feet, lucky he didn't hit his head on the conc, spent the night in hospital, the guy got diversion. If it happened in my work place would have cost me a fortune in fines and paying for the damage. The difference is ?

Your post suggests that the police need to be careful handing out tickets, and that a cops life is worth less than 10K to most tradies? With the alleged fine being 10K, are you insinuating that most of us (tradies) would consider knocking off a cop rather than take the fine?

A fine of 10 k for a tradie boy could be absolutely devastating, enough to end their own life in certain circumstances IMHO

I suggested they need to becarefull handing out ten thousand dollar tickets for a sticker on a bbq gas bottle not being visible.
Ten thousand dollars is more than enough for many to end their own life as maca said and some do it just for fun as in the beating example.
I have worked with both types and you or anyone else wouldn't pick them out of a crowd as any different to anyone else.

How do taxi drivers get on with their LPG taxi's? Commercial use, and more than 9 litres and carrying paying members of the public with no DG sticker............Did the muppet at OSH moss something?

I don't see that it is considered transportation of dangerous goods, seeing as the LPG tank is a permanent part of the cars fuel system.
Failing that, the tank capacity needs to exceed 250 Lt before external placarding is required, the tank would however need to be labelled correctly. It's surely an example of why there is relief in the rules to carry dangerous goods in limited quantities.

Yeah I know its the other end of the scale but Tamahere should have been completely a different outcome if the correct labels and signage were in place. You have to appeal to all ends of the spectrum or its just a waste of time enforcing anything.

It's an interesting read, but completely missing any facts or actual information. No city, no firm name, no date on when it happened. Isn't it a little odd ???

We have had it at work, a contractor carting our dangerous goods, loaded by our staff at the other end got a 5k instant fine for not displaying a placard on a single transport pod out of 12 of them. another one got a $700 instant fine for not checking the DG pocket on a split shift truck and another driver leaving a DG in it

That is TOTALY out of context, anyone over the age of 5 would recognize a 9 kg lpg bottle as a lpg bottle in this country.

In the case of a vehicle on fire are you first going to see an approximately 6 inch diamond sticker on a gas bottle or instantly recognize a gas set on the back of a ute?
