    I've driven a few shaggers.

    They are all ridiculously high geared and you have to rape the clutch to pull out into traffic.(same as most late model utes)

    The one auto one i have driven you have to completely forget about pulling out into traffic. It goes nothin nothin nothin nothin holy Fuck we are outta here.
    But at least it doesn't whine in third like every manual one i have driven except one and that had less than 10,000k on it.

    It might sound like i am bashing Toyota but i am actually a Toyota man threw and threw, they just dropped the ball. If crumpy was alive he wouldn't stand for it.

    That said they are all(the new utes) much of a muchNess

    the space in the navara is far better than the hilux and he is a pretty tall dude so it makes a difference. the D40 navaras are good on the road and lets be honest, that's where they spend most of their time. i prefer the manuals over the autos.

    edit: is it still an extra $250 for a over shoulder belt in the back middle seat?
    If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.

    Definately worth having ;

    7.Service Plan Offer
    a.The service plan covers parts and labour costs of scheduled service items for five years or 75,000km (whichever occurs first under normal operation conditions);

    Most people would cut out 75k in 3 years or less?

    VC the diff is that extra cylinder in the Ford, mines a 6 speed auto, yep I got old, but it's a great ute tripping on road, mines only a 2 wheel drive, only things that shit me is that fly by wire, it's really dangerous, specially shootn the gap! And the fucking useless radio, I itching atFoqrd on that, think ill gets Mazda radio fitted! 18 k and I still think yeah this is nice, and I've owned about25 new cars in my life, used to wreck them repping! 70 ks a year usually. IMHO Ford has the engine sorted!

    My Hilux is starting go better & uses less fuel @ 60000, probably because I only have it for another 6months or so....

    Gearbox need major work after 3-4000kms, clutch & or flywheel squeak, gearbox is still poos, whines in 5th, sounds almost like a BDA Escort in neutral, until you hit the clutch.

    Front guard tops aren't "Bob proof", paint is thin, door handle finish is wearing around the window switches & edge nearest you etc

    Handles great, goes really well, flat deck is mint, still haven't opened the boxes of King Tony Tools it came with

    Getting a petrol next time, diesels suck....

    We brought a BT50 (not new though 2009) goes great, tows well and all round bloody good now if only I was allowed to take it off road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Apparently if I do certain body parts may or may not spontaneously fall off
    Unfortunately having driven a Hilux of the same year Iam glad we didn't get one Sounds like nothing changed there. Very "trucky" not like the others on the open road

    Company car so I will struggle to sell it to you

    It's just really poorly finished, gear ratios are terrible, the seats are horrific, engine noise in the cabin is out of control and the radio is shit. Also, if you have young children that require car seats you will honestly want to slit your wrists after installing and removing them more than once.

    I havent driven the new Ford,The old man has and loved the motor hated the gearbox(6spd manual) .Company he has a lot to do with had one of the early demos, lined em new ford and his old Colorado.
    Colorado won simply becase the ford spent more time with the clucth disengaged.
    That demo went back with clutch issues and gearbox issues if I recall correctly, however both problems are common to all our popular modern utes cos they are to bloody high geared trying to get the open road fuel economy.
    He bought a new Colorado.

    Boss is about to upgrade shagger to a Ford so should drive one soon.
