After reading all this shit Munsey, Id buy two Great Walls for the same $$$$s as the Toyota, then you'd have a backup vehicle for the bad days.

this is the way i look a vehicles, todays late model cars are complicated, highly computerised and damn hard and expensive to fix. They all potentially will shit themselves whether they are mitsi, ford, holden, nissan or toyota. Get a mechanical warranty if they aren't in factory warranty and let them fix it if/when it shits itself. Buy the vehicle you like the most and suits you best as reputations mean shit these days. they all have strengths and weaknesses and stay the fuck away from chinese brands like ssangyong, chery, great wall etc.
If i could have a full time job shooting pests i'm up for over time.
Guy bought Great Wall here and got about 5 k down the road and it stopped, rang the company and they sent out a recovery vehicle and tarp to cover it on the truck.guy called in to check what happened and they gave him keys for another new ute he same, stuffed ute had never had oil in it in its lifedamaged beyond repair!

Mate was an apprentice at a Holden dealer and had some funny stories about how many brand new cars they had to fix before they could sell them. At least they did fix them though!
Some of them were just real basic stuff like having 3x 18" wheels and one 16", you'd think someone would have noticed that at the factory but apparently not!
Nah they also sell Mercedes, and you don't have to service those, no mechanics only Tecnicians with books
Guy that works for me had his car serviced by Ultimate in the Mount, took it to Napier for the weekend, on the way home, just before the Rangtaiki pub there was a small explosion, loads of smoke and a bad clattering,he still kept going, just a bit slower, before it stopped completely, walked to the pub and got assistance and a few beers, long and the short of it, sump plug fell out, Ultimate fitted a second hand motor with lower ks than his and apologised
Boom, cough,cough,cough

I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
when i was selling cars a couple years ago i sold a used navara to a guy from the new plymouth area that has a tyre shop. he bought a great wall brand new from simon lucas in akl and when purchased it he noticed the deck wasn't sitting properly. They told him to take it away and they would get the local dealer to adjust it. He took it in and they discovered the chassis was bent and couldn't be repaired. He had to take simon lucas to court and it took months to get his money back and what i could understand they fought him all the way. great quality vehicles indeed, price is reflective.

We have a few Ford Rangers in the fleet, bugger all problems with them
We have a few Navara's, STX R Sports, I have one, bloody good vehicles, fully optioned to the max, thirsty 4ltr petrol, done 151,000 kms, moved into it from a SS ute. My next wagon will be the 2015 model Navara but diesel.
A month ago the heater hose connection crapped out, pissy little plastic elbow that I could have repaired with a brass fitting and a couple of hose clips but genuine Nissan part $1,300.00
We bought our first Toyota flat deck ute in December, bugger all difference in prices between brands but a 5 year service deal same as above, it's a diesel and hauls arse when the drainlayer isn't loaded up with manholes etc.
What about the D-Max and the big Toyota land cruiser with the flat deck and v8 Diesel engine? Are they any good?
Land cruisers are very truck like and i don't need a heavy duty utility . 4 wheel bike will do the tuff stuff . To be honest d max rate very well with fuel economy , but unless it's pimped to the max (10 k worth. ) they look like a. old mans ute . Throw 5 or 10 k at a hilux and they look better and even with a canopy . Rangers look very cool but put a canopy on them and they look GAY !

Just brought this of tard me canopy tuff deck plus well side and bumper same colour as mine and it's sr5 . Paid a grand sweet deal I think , as canopy $3,500 on its own ( new) this is 2009![]()
