EV's should pay higher road tax as they are heavier therefore more road wear.

Really?? I'm thinking about getting an ev to go to work in. Its just getting too damn expensive to driver everyday. My fuel bill is now up to $32.95 per day fuel cost only. I used to be able to do the same trip for $20. ( I work a 4 on 4 off roster)
cost of fuel will stop me working there for much longer I think. Cant justify losing $250 per fortnight just in gas.
Does anyone have anything good to say about any E/V's on the market??
have to admit the leaf s the best made i have worked on so far, however early models to not have a battery cooling/heating system so wont handle temperature extremes without a serious loss in battery life and performance.
hyundai comes in pretty good too but does have battery temp control
wouldnt have either though
teslas are a pure POS, bad manufacture, bad build quality, awful backup service and unreliable
Well the US-assembled ones often were. The Chinese-assembled ones are far better. My son has had a Tesla3 for about a year now. Quite impressive actually and this is grudgingly from someone who owns two FOG vehicles (Fuck off Greta, as in guzzler petrols). The Tesla has had zero probs so far and he's done long trips in it with the family. Last one was H Bay to Rotovegas and round a bit, using free chargers in Taupo and plugging into the wall at the Roto motel. Total "fuel" cost $18 for the trip and he's not into economy driving styles.
