    Seat covers

I'm sure this has been done to death, but I'm looking at seat covers for the 80 Series.

Need to be waterproof, NZ made and durable.

It looks like the options are Black Duck, Rugged Valley and Workproof.

What say you all - any good or bad experiences out there?

Had a set of these in the Ranger since new, seats look brand new underneath the covers (seat plastics are farked though). I got their Kodra waterproof version, it's a bit more flexible than the heavy canvas style covers and for me I feel a bit more comfortable to sit on for long periods. Most of the work vehicles I've had have come with Black Duck or the like, so extensive arse perching time on all the main brands and I really have no complaints with the Tolleys ones. Much cheaper than the heavy canvas style which appeals to my sense of frugality and also my wife's ability to spend inexplicable amounts of coin on the kids...

Having said that these waterproof seat covers are nasty for making your balls sweat, and farts go straight back up to your face and into the aircon system but apart from that as I said I have no complaints with them. For reference, I was doing marine contracting so wet gear, muddy and slimy crud, rust and assorted grime and the seat covers are easily washed and come up like new.

Black Duck are Aussie made but have an agent in the North Island so maintain a stock level for the main brands, Rugged Valley NZ made - both good quality and pricey.

Tolleys is Dominion Rd in Auckland. One reason I went with them last time. For whatever reason I don't think anyone else had the right covers for the back seats in the ute at that time, might have been a stocking issue.

We have Rugged Valley seat covers in the ute (front and back) and in the tractor. NZ made (in Masterton), great fit and excellent customer service.
Give them a call, they will probably have a Fieldays special going next month.

I have Rugged Valley in my Ute and they seem pretty good. Black Duck in the work ute and they seem pretty hard wearing and have been abused for a number of years

    Rugged valley all the way
If my kids and dog can't destroy them they must be good !

    You won't regret it

PS: they are not pricey. You will rip through a repco $100 set in less than a year. My rugged valley full set is into its 4th year, just washed them, look like new
