Thread: Small boat setup inspiration

the dairy farmers now have closed cell foam mats that go on concrete pad..they are about a hundy bucks each and have serated interlocking edges..I picked one up on side of road,it lives on floor of boat..keeps my feet and the dogs bums warm,much nicer than cold alloy... it also dampens sound. really need to find another one so can do whole bottom of dingy. as they are about 20mm thick they really are good for this job.would be emergency bouyancy in event of SHTF too.

I have piece of ply with marine carpet between rear and middle seat in the parkercraft,makes nice flat floor for the office /shooting swivel seat.

its normally called anti fatigue matting
great for when you have to stand in one spot for extended periods on concrete

I used to go out in a boat that had tube matting on the cockpit floor, very comfortable.

And then you got to clean it all the time, fish blood, scales etc, build up very quickly, along with flies.

We worked out that wearing Jandals provided the same level of comfort.

On the other hand I've recently flicked my Kayak in favour of a tinny and I've been kitting that out, with all the bits and bobs, a Kayak fisherman finds indispensable.

- fish stringer, hook remover, lip grabber, three tackle boxes full o' gear, split ring pliers, fish finder, spare anchor, sea anchor/drogue, iki spike, landing net, gaff, 6 rod holders, bait board, 2 knives in attached sheaths, and so on...

Its a wonder I ever get time to put a hook in the water.

As a kid, it was a single rod or a hand-line, cupla spare hooks and sinkers and bucket, and hoping for a spot in the boat, that was comfortable.

Sounds like you have all the fishing gear sorted. Got any pics of it? I would like to see how you stash it all.

Strummer...nah not the ones in link above... do google search farmlands etc stock it... got jigsaw like interlocking edges.
