Thread: Winch recommendations

now if one was really really clever one could rig a winch so that it could be quickly mounted front or rear with a frame either end and a few pins to hold it - my great idea for the day - I get the idea of pulleys and deadmen to use a front winch to pull backwoods but man how much stuff does one want to carry - the alternative is a winch that is not mounted permenently but rather taken to deadman with a lead and used from the anchor point - that then can be used either end of the quad or side by side - there is one powered by a chainsaw engine - then there is the old 6 foot manuka stick and a rope windlass - works but a big side by side maybe not
