Should be a few bodies floating about if weather is good.

Anyone know if you can attend as a spectator?
Yes I very been a spectator (due to rifle failure) at sparrowhawk and it wasn't an issue . . . But ffs the match is only 20 rounds, arrange to shoot someone's rifle . . .
If you've got a rifle that goes bang, why wouldn't you bring it and shoot?!
I'll have the ute with the canopy on. Dunno if they would be enough leg room if you put a squab in the back.
Might struggle with the 308, I'm running a 223. Just have to aim lots higher for the longer shots.
From memory, to hit a rabbit with the 308 at 550yds required aiming 39 rabbits high.
Will have to see how things are looking a couple days before.. might be a last-minute entry.
Wonder how well I sighted my 223 in last time…
Weather's looking alright at this stage. Could be windy....
Nah, never seen any wind there!!!! Oh, there was this one time in January this year......
Only rifle setup currently for which I still haven't spent enough ammo to accumulate brass to bother reloading. Wind and range should make shooting a newish to me rifle with cheap factory fiochhi a good challenge subsonic well before it hits(misses) the 700m target.
Ordered my ticket today
Also got a pleasant surprise when I checked my ammo stash today thinking I would need to load some rounds for the hunters comp....47 rounds already loaded :D whoop whoop
Hey @Husky1600#2 could you ask about the course access at the moment - do we need mud tyres to get out there? An answer hmere might save them some calls. Thanks
I doubt it
Have just come back from Sparrowhawk after todays Teams Event. Track is dry and in good nick, hard and fast. Weather was a strong NW for the first hour or so then changed to an easterly type breeze. Nice comfortable day and the place is dry. So long as we dont have heaps of rain this week I would say it would be all good for road tyres. I would even contemplate itv in a car with slightly higher ground clearance.
Looks like there are a good number of entries and still coming in. There is a BBQ for those staying Sat night, but would be helpful if some of us could take some extra meat and stuff to add to the BBQ.
New to this site and wondering about access, I only have two wheel drive ute and not wanting to damage any tracks trying to get where I shouldn't. Any advise gratefully received please. Still deciding to camp the Saturday night or just do the drive back to Kurow and back the next day?
The track is a good shingled track, lots of traction. But can be slippery with a fresh shower of rain. Its a decent climb but i've seen plenty of cars go over on a dry day. If you have any doubts throw a couple bags of gravel in the back of the tray. Or yell out and we can get you over no problems, there will be spare seats in other vehicles.
Cool, thanks for that.
Pork for Saturday dinner is taken care off. Attachment 258580

Nice work ^^^^
Looks like there will some wind on Saturday to keep us on our toes :D
Yeah weather looks like it will be challenging. I couldn't leave well enough alone and since I only had 25 factory vmax left and wanted some ammo to shoot I did decide to empty the brass and load up some 75 elds for the 223. Hopefully they shoot decent I've got 100 of them. Hopefully I can sneak out this evening to do a quick validation. I guess 100 rounds is more fun than 25 :ORLY:
Was more for redemptions and Sunday. I'm not fazed about score obviously I'd like it to be good but I'm in it for a fun day and a baseline. Hopefully a few more of these down the road the scores a bit better and I can validate improvement.
Yes looks mint are you down for it? Saw in the doubters thread your up Northland.
Checked my zero this morning all set to go  if I miss it will be cause my dope is wrong or conditions :yaeh am not durnk: The rifle is on ;)
Practiced a few shots rested but not loaded up on the bipod to confirm p.o.i, I intend to use this opportunity to practice shots I wouldn't take in the field, so rested off terrain, packs, walking sticks etc, in the field the bulk of my shooting is prone off the bipod especially at extended ranges, will be a fun challenge.
Also my 308 is not my long range rifle, it's definitely capable enough out to the ranges I would use it in ideal conditions, but not my first choice.
On animals If I'm not 100% comfortable and confident I won't take the shot, this event will definitely put me outside of that comfort zone.......yep I'm making excuses before we even get there :D
Unfortunately ive had to pull the pin, hopefully you guys have a good weekend, be keen to hear how everyone gets on
Best of luck folks.hope you all have an awesome weekend.
Just checking, is this definitely going ahead Rain, hail or snow ??? Weather is looking pretty sub par just wanna be sure before I set off at 530am tomorrow morning :psychotic:
Haven't seen a cancelation email and I'm about to get on a plane so, I assume so. @Uplandstalker has been sorting the ribs and I'm sure he'd know
Meant to be 11c to 17c with a bit of drizzel from 10am to 3pm.I could be wrong slightly tho.Straight shooting guys, enjoy the pork.Oh and yr worst enemy is N,NW winds up to 28ks on Saturday and 20ks on Sunday.
Final bit of reloading done today, truck packed ready for an early start, hopefully the wind eases before I pitch my tent tomorrow night :D
Does anyone know when the next one is on? I would love to have a go some time.
