Sounds very similar to what ben Waimata and i heard we hudson spoke here. They are consistent at least.
We were told they were happy the way Nash and the police were bungling this buyback as it would make their job that bit easier at next election. Seems he's giving them all the assistance he possibly can.

I looked at those 13 points with Hudson at the sika show. I commented to him that they were too open ended and easy to manipulate. Any comms to Nats need to close up the potential for weaseling imo.

    for you @Rushy... https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/political...arm-law-reform

I actually think following the submissions to the select committee we should help them rewrite this in light of the real issues that - they kept saying over and over came to light and attention of the select committee - But Deborah was gonna do absolutely squat about!

    Proposed changes by National:

    Introducing Firearms Prohibition Orders
Adding flexibility to dealer licences given the wider remit being proposed
Introducing clearer and more flexible rules for clubs
Introducing clearer and more flexible rules for sporting ranges
Ensuring the Register is clearly defined in legislation
Keeping licence duration the same as it is today
Including safeguards on healthcare practitioners reporting to Police.
Removing excessive regulatory powers from the Act
Introducing new and consistent exemptions for sports shooting
Providing for greater flexibility for pest control exemptions
Adding common sense amendments for collector exemptions
Amending the fit and proper person test to require some clear rules for assessing patterns of behaviour
Requiring common sense rules for visitors purchasing firearms over prohibition

Met Hudson at the Sika show and chewed his ear for ~15 mins. I was left VERY unimpressed.
Close to zero understanding or willingness to admit the changes introduced under COL were shite and needed serious fixing and/or removal.

I have emailed the Nz first party and asked them what they are going to do for their votes on the second Traunch. Are they following Nationals lead and putting some space between themselves and the Labour party... are they voting with their conscience or supporting this debacle further.
i have also told them that what they do in the near future will effect them in the not too distant future regarding where my vote goes.
That was four days ago and other than a "got your email " I have not had a response.

I think we should be seeking out all the "other" political parties on what they intend to do with their vote, just so they know what we will be doing with ours.

Did you also ask him about Shane turning him and his mates down with funding for Claymark Sawmills. It goes on and on and on and on and on!

Give Hudson a bit of slack. He has fronted in many places and listened reasonably; which action is eons better than the Coalition of Losers has done. He is also on the review committee alongside his potential partner from ACT, David Seymour. @Maca49 and others at least had the gumption to make use of the window that Hudson went out of his way to provide in order to listen.

I got the feeling he was window dressing, wishy washy, knowing deep down theyre going to do SFA for us, a little bit of titivating around the edges. But you need to vote for them to change the govt.
It may stablise with them, but the horse has really and truly bolted
