look at range, angle and lighting. remember "el cheapo" may look great for the price but beware.
imagine you have a camera facing a door and the door takes the whole frame.
cheapy crap runs 650 lines on info top to bottom so a persons face may be 80 lines on picture. blow it up for id'ing them and it will look like lego man. so beware low res stuff unless its for very up close. the old analog tv stystem was 625 line and remember all theose really gorgeos women on tv until you saw them in 1080p or 4k. yep well security cameras are like that!
run cable, dont skimp and do it right, i spent years taking useless footage off dvr's that wouldnt absolutely identify anyone in a court of law
