    I've used a lightweight tent, a 3x3m silnylon tarp and both were good in there own ways. I just swiped a cuben fibre Mld Trailstar on trademe which I have been wanting to try for a while. I think they all have their place. Heaps of lightweight options out there now and more and more becoming available from retailers in NZ. Gearshop seem to have a few lightweight tents now.
