    What I did find out though is that the new Cascades are not a patch on the old ones. Leaked badly (my bad I didn’t use a pack liner) and the elastic straps on the outside came to bits. The harness length adjustment buckle is a nightmare to adjust with wet/cold hands.

    Nah. Every now and again I could catch the aroma from the Palmy MacDonalds on the breeze, so I just followed that.

    oops, meant how much did your pack weigh loaded up ready to go

    Are you mainly sitting small areas and glassing or covering country?
