Yep heard that one before straight from the horse's mouth, amongst a few similar responses to other products that wouldn't "do what they said on the box".

Won't ever happen to me again though, the last one cost me way to much......

I guess I can take solace in the fact that I'm not the only one in this country or internationally that has found themselves in the same situation
