    Great Nz Made gear and companies.

    Recently purchased Earth Sea Sky wet weathers for the staff, Hydrophobia jackets and VentX pants. Service was great and the gear looks and wears as good (the jacket I reckon is better) as anything I have tried from larger companies manufacturing overseas. The kit still obviously needs to prove itself in terms of longevity but at this stage, I am very pleased with the whole experience.
    Talking to other folks, seems they are not a really well known company and they dont seem to regularly feature as a recommendation or discussion point on here. Which got me wondering, what other hidden NZ made gems are out there? Or maybe well known products that people dont necessarily know are made down the road?

    An NZ company called "Mate" (matenz.co.nz) I have found to have some nice good quality gear. Have their gaiters and meat bag so far, and great quality gear. Dont appear widely known though. Keen to get myself one of the "wear on earth" jackets at some point too,I hear they are really good.

    Cactus, Wear on earth, MKM, Mountain high clothing, twin needle and nz sock company are nz manufacturers that make some great kit. Nice to support local, especially when they make great functional products.

    Kaiwaka clothing. Mainly for rural work wear and some of their clothing is starting to be made off shore but fantastic free repair service including zips.
