    High end binos

After some new binos going to take the plunge and get some decent ones after looking through my mates leica trinovids, just after people's thoughts as there is a heap out there I'm currently considering 10x42 trinovids and ultravids or the 8x32 ultravids and Swarovski slc etc just wondering if the extra $1000 to step up over the trinovids is that noticeable I know its subjective but haven't had a chance to look through both so any advice is appreciated

    Cheers Cam

Leica Geovids 10x42, awesome binos HH2 has, definitely what I'm getting when the coin is available!

The seals are better on leica than on Swaro anyway. When we were getting HH2's he was still debating swaro or Leica, Swaro have something like a 50cm underwater gurantee whereas Leica has a 5 m. Or something like that. They are both great though. Somehow the Leica are also a few hundred cheaper.

    +1 on the Swaros.
I will consider the seals if I ever need my binos to see scallops or crays

The glass is simply the best on the market. They range further than I will ever need.

Took me a while to trust swaros again, but these have been thru extremes and passed.

    EL range 10 x 42

    Another vote for Swaro EL's.
Have had mine for about 5 years now and they have been out in temperatures from -10 to +30 degrees with no issues.
    You can't buy better glass!

Thanks guys will have to keep saving just went and looked through some trinovids really liked the glass and feel of them but didn't fit me as well as my mates geovids found them hard to get comfortable with might look into the el's or new geovids if they turn up

I would also recommend Swaro EL's. Only bought mine recently but definitely worth it!

Anyone have any thoughts on the 10x42 geovid hds? Against the Swarovskis?

Having used both I do not think there is any huge differences if you are glassing and ranging inside 1000m.
The swaros will range beyond 1000 better. They also have imo, better ergonomics and to my eye, slightly better glass when looking at animals in the country I have used them. If I was worried about cost, I would go with the HD's.

Anyone know what the NZ retail will be on the new Leica HD-B 10 x 42? It seems I can get a set here in Oz easy enough.
