Sooo, I might have stuffed up.
I couldn't get a 15cm victory boning knife. Only 20cm which is a bit long. Sooo, 19cm straight filliting looked same shape bought one of those instead.

    Any other differences?
    Do the job?

Only thing i can think of is it might be a bit flexible, shape looks right.

I order most of mine locally but the Victory website is decent, this is the knife I use the most at home

Is it worth getting a dedicated curved skinning knife and boning knife?
id look at th discarded work ones. i use a knifekut sheep skinner profile as EDC. not so much belly as a skinner n bit more of a point. it gets arseholes

So after 45 years of using knives most days from the kitchen to the chiller and feild and buying very expensive beautiful knives I now use the plain old victory skinner and boning knives for any thing meat related and global knives in the kitchen with a couple of the new world smeg knives that go pretty well for what they are.
I just recently bought a warthog sharpener which is easy, clean and works very well.
I am also a dab hand at free hand sharpening and own a fantastic guided eze-sharp made obsolete by this very simple warthog.
The only other knife I bought recently is the copy of the swing blade EKA.
fantastic for opening up skin and gut bags when dealing with hairy & woollen animals .
My 2 cents on knives and sharpening!Name: 20251014_073727.jpg

I have a collection of about 25 Bark River knives.
But I often use the Victory "Clarke Boys" knife and have ordered one of these Victorys'. It's got a little drop to its point. https://victoryknives.co.nz/narrow-c...ng-knife-12cm/
Looks ideal for arse ringing and gutting Fallow.

Is that like the Svord Peasant knife?

No it's dual blade with a locker.
I have had and lost 2 peasant knives.
I would rather a mercator than a peasant knife.
I bought of ali express for FA and it seems to be as good a quality as the Eka.
    Pretty handy little knife.Name: 20251014_084138.jpg

Had to laugh when I saw this , do you hide the knife stash somewhere so the Mrs never sees them and she thinks you just have a couple .....

Out of curiosity, what would be the most used one or one that jumps out as a favourite?

I've bought a few knives for hunting.
Someone a lot more experienced than me told me that skinny bladed knives with a sharp point are a lot more use than "I'm stuck on a desert island like Bear Grylls" Survival type knives.

At the moment I use a Havalon Piranta surgical disposable blade folding knife. Just about the skinniest
    thing around.
