    Leaking battery

    One of those ICE headlights,all sorts of nice critters in the dark over here so off to the nearest tree,two steps and the lights go out,to late I'm commited.
    when I looked for the trouble found a VARTA leaking all through the dimmer switch.Name:  001.JPG

    If you have a light in the daybag might pay to check it

    Rechargeable? Never had any problems with them. Been using them for a while now.

    Happens to the kids toys all the time.
    Goes flat gets thrown in the toy box and forgotten about.
    Next time they want it, go to put batteries in she's rooted.

    They call them 'alkaleaks' for a reason

    But id rather have a mild acid burn then a li ion blow up on my forehead, so I keep using em

    Its pretty scary, li ion can kill you in an instant.

    Im never buying chinese 18650's again, saw a pic of a guy lost half his hand with those $2 batteries in his torch.

    Throw away your laptops then lads, what do you think they run on?
    I think there is a difference between 18650 protected and unprotected batteries.

    Hence cheap Chinese 18650s.

    Oh and panasonics blew up in a couple of 787 dreamliners. Lithium is the second most unstable element, it's dangerous, just gotta be aware of the risks.

    Didn't blow up but caught on fire didn't they? Suffered from thermal runaway during charging and over heated. Lack of good quality control during cell manufacturing, now Boeing has there own boys in Japan during the build and a new massive steel case contains them in the aircraft.

    Yeah I think ill wait a couple of years to take a dreamliner flight
