Does anyone have one/used one and have any reviews good or bad?
Are there other options for a portable outdoor fire/stove other than the Oz Pig?

I'm on the hunt for a really small one, 50cal ammo box is looking like a candidate.
Having watched their demo video they do look good with a camp oven on top, got to wonder on freight and cost. Saw one a guy had made in a ski field car park similar to the Oz pig, should have asked him if he would make a couple

There awesome, we had one for a fly in roar...
Main concern is build quality.
I see Bakewell do an aluminium one that looks like a nice piece of kit at 10kg total weight.

I've seen a couple of DIY versions go well.

A mate makes them from 9kg gas bottles pretty similar to the two above.
I made those two fires the one on the left is mine the one on the right is Ingrid 51 they both pull apart and fit into a fish bin made out of junk I had they work well but you need quite a bit of wood for a weekend pine cones or Manuka is best

a mate made one up without flat bit to cook on and they sure poke out heat, another friend has one to heat her 20ft container home....super efficent on wood.
seen the ozpigs at fairlie show and was impressed with concept if not the price...
thats the one...good on ya and apolagies my memory wasnt up to task...
I reckon if you have the skills an oz pig design is pretty cool, If you have more skills the Bakewell design is even better.
My son used to install fireplaces and build flues, took one look at a Bakewell and came up with a better one!
Smart little bugger, still waiting for my one
guy just out of work in Oz made little potbellies from 9kg lpg bottles as posted earlier.
also little cooker things where the bottom turned into the lid. hard to explain and trying to remember the details.
worked well.
Hi mate,
Ive been making a few of these they burn well, are reasonably light approx 5kg and are full stainless steel.

Thanks all. These homemade ones look good but truth be told I'm not talented enough to make one!
I do like the look of the Bakewell Camper and for the extra few $ this might be the way I go over the Oz Pig. Its lighter to which is a bonus for fly-ins etc.
I found these at the Fielday's this year and was impressed.
