    Yeah, and wash out your bag with cold water and detergent, give a light scrub, then sit in a touch of bleach to sterilize it. Hot water will cause proteins to coagulate, and will most likely leave a stain. If I need to wash my load-shelf pack, separate the frame from the body, and remove it if you can. I carry some laundry liquid in a small sealed container in the back of the truck. 30 minutes in cold wash at the Tokoroa Laundramat, gives you enough time for a large chicken kebab at Kebab Master next door. Clean gear, job done.
