Just got an email from EXO. Sale ends tonight. 12PM.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

I’ve done the same thing, gotten the 5000 as well. Just in case.

@Tahr, so 18 months later, what's the verdict on your IA3K pack, anything you'd change, anything you don't like or is it everything you hoped for?
    Keen to hear your experiences

It's what I hoped for. The caveat is that I don't have another top tier pack to compare it with.
I mainly use it with the lid and the paneer as a day pack. It's a great light weight option for that.I haven't used the main bag much - just one overnighter and it was fine.
It can carry a thumping big load with ease and comfort. Im the limiting factor there.
Its had a lot of work and is holding up well. Cant think of any faults or draw backs.

Restraint is the better part of dignity. Don't justify getting even. Do not do unto others as they do unto you if it will cause harm.

Sounds like you've picked well, thanks for the "review" I'm not in the market just yet for a new pack as I'm still in love with my Fjallraven Kajika but the time may come where I give into the whole "meatshelf" thing but so far it does everything I need in comfort....but....bit of a gearhead!

Guys, looking for a new pack to cover both hunting & tramping.
    Looking at

    MR Metcalf 75
    MR Beartooth 85
    Kuiu Pro Divide 4500
Osprey Aether Plus 70 or 85

Thinking load shelf style to aid compactness but have the capacity for longer hunting trips. Does anyone have the MR's & how do they perform.

I went from an Osprey Aether 60 to a Mystery Ranch Pintler.
There's no comparison, the Osprey was a great tramping pack but I really felt the heavy loads and they were tough.
It also didn't handle pushing through thick bush and scrub and started looking pretty ratty.

The Mystery Ranch is really comfortable with a light load, and handles heavy loads great as well, I've carried 55kg in mine for a couple hours and felt like I could've gone further.

I like my MR Pintler too, haven't done any heavy loads but it's a very good pack. Thanks to @Deanohit for the heads up on it ages ago!

Have a MR sawtooth and Beartooth combo . I’ve used the Sawtooth and GL frame a lot to pack meat out. The Beartooth is still in used.
I like the Sawtooth for how it carries, and put together and is well made. MR quality is good.
Can only compare to a Macpac.
The meat shelf is the game changer.
Carrying 40 kg of meat and gear is a bitch however you do it imho.

I have the MR Marshall, Is a brilliant piece of kit but is heavier that the other modular / carbon offerings.... pretty sure my Marshall is 3kgs empty!
There isn't anything i would replace it with, although a mate of mine has ordered the new exo K4 which i'm looking forward to comparing with the MR

Since Yeti bought MR there seems to be a bit of an issue getting stuff in NZ at the moment as Safari Supplies in Taupo have lost the MR franchise I think, which is a shame because they are really great to deal with.
