Podcasts - Hunting, Gear etc. related - Who is listening to what?

    Hi forum,

I'm after some hunting, gear, and outdoors-related podcasts to listen to. I accept that many are product sponsored, particularly those out of the USA, but there are often good discussions and some little gems that come out of them.

I've got some go-to's, e.g. Vortex Nation, Paul John Michaels, and others that are much harder work to listen to, requiring a much larger grain of salt and sifting through, e.g. Backpacking Light, Hornady, Sportman's Empire, Nine Finger Chronicles, but I am interested in what others are listening to.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread, but couldn't see any other obvious place.

    Thanks in advance.

I enjoyed Cutting the Distance while Remi Warren was hosting it. Kinda went off it with Dan Phelps, but haven’t given it much time

Remi has continued podcast as Live Wild, still heavy focus on Nth America but if you pick and choose some good episodes. The Hunting Collective (now finished) also has some good stuff and pretty easy listening. Into the Wilderness with Byron Page is a bit more intellectual but does cover some interesting topics. Wild Fed is not so hunting centric but a worth a listen if you are interested in foraging for wild food in general.

I like Anchored with April Vokey, it's focused on fly fishing but she covers hunting and general outdoors etc and has some pretty interesting guests. Kifarucast is a good one if you're a gear freak they don't just focus on their own gear either, I've found a few good episodes but a lot of them are very "murica"

I listen to podcast all day at work through my bluetooth earmuffs so I've got a few hunting ones in the library

    Meateater
    The stag roar [nz based]
    Solo hunter
    The educated hunter [nz based]
Becoming a bowhunter [australian , he hunts with rifles too]
    By land
    Live wild
    The gritty podcast
    The mindful hunter
    The beargrease podcast

A lot of the american ones spend a lot of time talking about issues that dont apply to NZ hunting but their gear reviews are often pretty good, the mindful hunter spent $5000 of his own money n packs to give objective reviews. There should be one or two you like in there.

    Yeah, they are pretty tedious.

Another one is the Big Hunt Guys podcast, I've only listened to the latest one where they chat with Remi Warren which was pretty good.

Try Beyond the Kill. Sponsored by the Wild Sheep Foundation. Content alternates between hunting and fitness/ injury management for hunters.
    One of the better ones.

The meateater podcast and cutting the distance have both done entire episodes on gear that are pretty good. If you google meateater gear episode you should be able to find the episode number.

Meateater is the best hunting podcast in general, not everything is relatable to nz no but still interesting.
I cant stand the educated hunter
