For staring dry I like my British milsurp Gortex smock. Quite heavy and a little bulky but it works extremely well. Topped it off with matching trou for $200 total.

    British Gore-Tex Smock Used

    British DPM Goretex Pants

Was listed as used. I would say issued but unused. Think some of the Brits must be allergic to rain.

    Spot on there Gadget!

I use one of the Goretex tops too, I'm on my second one now after the first cost me bugger all compared to some of my other hunting waterproofs and lasted me a couple of years of abuse.
They aren't lined so weigh very little, the hood is very big as it's designed to fit over a helmet and they have kept me dry!
For the money, there isn't anything else that compares and being lightweight and compact, they're easy to stick in the bottom of your pack on those days where they just might be needed.

Other than the name inside I would swear the stuff was new, ... and nowhere near the silly prices of the civi gear.
