Report your warranty experience on brands

I thought i would start this thread as i have recently had two polar opposite warranty issue/claims this year.
Not all products have good warranties and its worth supporting companies that stand by their products.

    Thermarest:
So I had x3 mats that were slowly leaking air and would require blowing up 2 or 3 times in a night. 1 mat was second hand 15 years old. Mat 2 was purchased new 10 years ago. Mat 3 purchased off trademe 4 years ago.
Sent them back via the local H&f
3 brand new mats returned 3 or 4 weeks later!
    Good on ya Thermarest.

    Meindl
My 4th pair of Meindl Dovres, purchased via Bushwear Trademe. Rands cracks within months of wearing. Lots of emails..... sent them back.... oh my fucking god.... worst experience ever with both companies without going into a super long bitch session.
Long of the short is that they are taking the scape goat route and telling me I dried in front of something too hot and I need to pay $250 to get re soled with new rand.
Good on ya Meindl- last pair of boots I buy from you!

Is the issues with the meindls coming from who you bought them off or stager?

No directly with Meindl. It's an obvious material fault. Im very careful with not getting leather boots too hot

Zeiss. Part of scope fell off! Can't fix , but can replace with a refurbished one at a cost..... so can refurb but not fix?
Ziess is no more making scopes apparently. But keeping the service side of it. Why not keep making and get rid of off the service side? As that's the side that's of no use!

Ute battery died last year on the day we were heading off for a month with the caravan, local garage couldn't get the correct battery as the wholesaler didn't have one. The wholesaler told the garage to fit the one they had that had a two year warranty and if it failed they would stand by the warranty, they predicted it might only last a year.

It failed a few weeks ago one week shy of a year, rang garage and yep all sorted same day at no extra cost and with a sincere apology for it not lasting.

Cascade Designs sent me a new bowl from Ireland for my MSR Windburner after Ampro wouldn't help me out. I left it on top of a mountain and was trying to purchase a replacement. Also provided instructions on how to get the insulation jacket snug. Haven't needed help with the thermarest yet confident in their warranty after going out of their way with the bowl.

Pair of Swaro 8x30 field glasses. But not entirely rahooted.Sent back to Austria via Lower Hutt based NZ rep.Bugger me a brand new pair like for like arrived in the mail 3 weeks later buckshee! Can't fault Swaro gear or their back up.Maybe they hold a reserve stock of discontinued models in their Austrian warehouse for this very reason

I've also had a bad miendl experience, got a pair of boots and when they were about 5 months old I felt a sharp pain in my achilles. Was down in Stewart Island with about another week to go down there. Looked in the boot and felt around and the damn heel cap had folded down on itself. Miendl didn't want a bar of it when I contacted them. Haven't looked at miendl boots again since - still got them though sitting in my wardrobe. Used my new world club card as a make shift barrier between the spiky heel box and my achilles

NZ hunting products. Son bought pair of heavy canvas chaps from them. Wore them a few times and chucked in shed. Somehow the zippers teeth got mounted. I contacted them and they were sorted asap at no charge. Bloody awesome chaps, pun intended.
