About LinkBacksI dont use a rino myself, but a couple of mates have them. They have yet to need the back up battery pack as they are getting great useage from the lithium rechargeable.
One point to note is that the radio will chew through AA alkalines very quickly and you are unlikely to be able to use the high power 5 watt mode either
