Just waiting for some cow hide (for the sheath) to arrive which might take a while coming from europe..

Where do you buy your leather from?

Lapco lapco.co.nz problem is they sell it in large pieces, so if you only want a small amount it’s not worth it, if you can find a friendly saddler you might be able to buy some, whatever you do only get veg tanned stuff as chrome tanned will fall apart.

Another custom build , a few hours left but nearly finished. Aqua blue Jute micarta, g10 spacers and liners with dyed and stabilized wood.
More photo's to come of finished knife over the next few days.Name: DSC_0097.JPG

The finished knife, 14c28n , false hamon, etched ricasso on a Mamba model.
Lots of experimentation and some I would use again and some maybe not.Name: DSC_0112.JPG

@viper, I like the knife photos, but your herb garden (used as the regular backdrop) is almost as impressive!

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

@Puffin , HaHa , my wife will be stoked to hear you say that, she's a nurse on the front line with this virus so that will make her day and will tell her once she gets back from her shift tonight.
It's also a good reminder for me to mix my back drops up more.

I think that might be A2 steel. Less chippy than D2.

SOG Terminus XR in S35VN. Was sharp out of the box then wicked sharp after using the ultra fine stones added to my sharpmaker. The XR is a much less slick axiom lock found on Benchmade folders.

Has anyone used chestnut shells for dying leather and if so how is it done?
Tried to find anything on google but no success.
    Cheers
