    Stowit stoney creek

    Dose the stoney creek stowit jacket breath at all I'm after a light weight coat as I only where them when it raining or blowing hard when glassing but I always carry a coat in my pack. What other coats are out there that cover you shorts & weigh under 400grm & are they better than the stowit to me the price off them seems a bit cheap if it water prof & can breath thanks

    Theres heaps of shell jackets out there that fit that criteria if youre willing to look past the "hunting brands", Macpac, Patagonia, Arcteryx, North Face, etc etc
    I have a Patagonia Torrentshell thats a good lightweight packable jacket

    The Swazi tahr lightweight is a nice jacket, expensive though. And lightweight shells generally don’t breathe well as there isn’t enough depth in the fabric to allow multiple layers, and still keep weight down. The goretex army jackets are cheap and work.

    No mate, the Stoney Ck stowit doesn't breathe. Great waterproof/windproof coat but if you're gonna hunt hard in it you'll end up with moisture trapped on the inside

    +1, but still like them. Just wish they would make one that was a bit longer, ie keep the shorts dry.
