About LinkBacksOK fellow forum members I am intrigued to learn what is the most useful thing outside of the obvious that you always take with you on a hunt trip. I am not looking for you to tell me about your rifles, ammunition, knives, maps, compasses, tent, sleeping bags, GPS', torches, lighters, first aid kit, etc etc. I am looking for that interesting indispensable widget / gizmo / thing that you have (that you may have even made yourself) that you treasure for its usefulness.

Tell me / show me the most useful thing you always take with you when hunting.

What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
