    Tsprof k03 outdoors version

I recently received a tsprof sharpening system

This arrived in a nice green wooden box covered in Russian characters, it was well packaged, and surprisingly not opened by customs...
Inside the box was the guide rod that hold the stones, five artificial water stones made from aluminium oxide and bonded to an aluminium plate in 120, 220, 400, 600 and 1000 grit, a holding pouch for the stones, some tools in another pouch, a heavy metal base plate, the machine itself, a wide double clamp, a narrow clamp, some spare parts and a manual.

Assembling it is fairly straightforward and anyone who has put together a fishing rod or disassembled and reassembled a rifle will have no trouble.
I took a blade that had never been sharpened (it was fresh off the grinder another being heat treated and tempered) and quickly put a perfectly adequate edge on it, I say adequate because 1000 grit is a lot lower than I usually go.

The advantage this has over my wicked edge is the double clamps hold the blade better on long blades (less flex), and I can see where the stones sharpens to better, meaning I can bring the edge right up to the start of the edge better, the disadvantage is that you do one side at a time, whereas the wicked edge you almost do two sides at a time, this makes sharpening faster and maybe more consistent.

The tsprof is a lot like the scary sharp, only with a much better form factor, smaller, in house friendly, more angles to use, safer and with a much much better rotation system - the scary sharp is simpler to use though.

What really excites me about the tsprof is the amount of stones you can get for it, from real stone, to artificial stones to diamonds and gals, waterstones, even stones cut from ancient rock...

Anyway I will keep playing with it and I will add it as an option to my knife sharpening service, which is $5 for any knife, chisel, plane blade or scissors under 100 mm or $7.50 for knives over 100 mm and $10 for axes.

How do you like the K03? Thinking of getting one, where did you get yours from?

i've got the little Kadet pro version in polished bare metal finish.
the things are almost a work of art that needs to be on display.
Good to see that parts are avaliable as I was worried that being Russian parts may become unavaliable.
Would like to get some finer finishing plates.

like parts for my Makarov CO2 air pistol. Can't get a seal kit.

Where did you get your Kadet Pro? Zanvak is selling them but it seems to be cheaper to get it direct from Amazon US!
