Went with a G Shock Rangeman. By all accounts it is quite accurate for pressure and altitude against my Garmin. Will continue to do validations from known sources.
Quick findings:
Temperature - useless unless you take it off - no surprises there. Will look at timing how long it takes to get back to temp, the arm warms it up.
Baro - looking spot on ± 1 hPa
Altitude - so far ± 5M so good enough
Compass - haven't used it much - wont be replacing my Silva
Have a suunto vector and a g-shock. Both work well. The sunnto is nowhere near as tough though and is showing wear and tear fast. Soft plastic housings etc.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
@JoshC yeah, the bevel popped off mine first then the glass got scratched easily. Cant blame the watch for the glancing axe blow that cracked the glass
Side note, if anyone knows how to turn the hourly beeps off on the Rangeman hola at me.......Its not anywhere in the manual or on google. Fricking annoying!!
Aim at the centre of the dial! That will shut it up! Mind the plastic shards

There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
@Gibo Scroll through your alarms with the top/bottom buttons till it shows SIG and toggle it off with the middle button on the right hand side.
