A pair of woolen fingerless mittens, "McScrooge style" for the warmth on cold clear days & nights, and if it all turns to "bah Humbug" and you need to keep the sideways rain out, a pair of kitchen rubber gloves to slip on over the top. Which are double purpose if you need firelighters. Or if you need more robust than rubber kitchen gloves, upgrade to rubber garden gloves.
Condensation can be an issue I'll admit, but the kitchen grade ones turn inside out easily enough to dry out

We get these for the staff on farm and they get a good run out of them. I can't really wear gloves for long as my hands just overheat even in the coldest conditions but they love them. Plnety warm but still a nice fit that allows you to do most stuff without having to take them off. Cheap too
