Totally agree. Try firing some shots at some newsprint at differant ranges and with differant chokes (don't go tighter than 1/2). It will give you a good idea of your ideal/max range with that particular load/choke combo. If there are more 'duck sized holes' in your pattern than you would like then try a differant type of ammo and see how that goes.
