Yeah, pukes are a bit of a menace. At least they are native.
The bird I hate with a passion is the Aus Magpie, cant stand the nasty fcukers.
they aint nasty they,re just protecting their nests ??dont project human traits/emotions on animals it dont apply:D
says the man who calls his gsp sneaky:pissed off:
Got a few round work when we keep the wild cats down.
I like em there, after all they didn't build an industrial area on their swamp.
Can see how big numbers would be a problem on farms etc but haven't seen big numbers anywhere in Nelson.
Not even a week ago, I watched two Maggies scrap a hawk out of the sky. I almost cheered them on
My mum is breeding them to keep the haters happy :D

Do they also scrap our falcon?
I watched two falcon harass a hawk in some awesome airobatic dogfighting. When the hawk bugged out one went tail end Charlie to make sure it didn't come back and the other went back to a tree where i assume they had a nest and I got an ok photo of it:cool:
I'm not lucky enough to see Falcons that regularly... wish I was
Or maybe live closer to where the live :)
I think that they are beautiful, iconic and sooo silly. God was really taking the piss when he came up with Pukes.
Leave their status as they are.
Go and shoot Plovers if you want to simply shoot birds for the sake it. But I would prefer that you shot paper targets, just for the sake of it.
it should have everything removed from its ears back:yuush:Quote:
Should the Pukeko have its gamebird status removed in the North Island?
they are so cool but find the hunting on treelined roads to tempting thats how one wound up in my freezer.Quote:
