    Epic fast glass flyrod

These have caught my attention. Mainly looking at the 888 for Tongariro and lake work.
    Anyone here using one?

I bought the 6 wt glass last year, I am very impressed, its casts wonderful. I think it's slowed down the whole experiance, to a smoother more casual experience, I can't really put my finger/ thoughts on it.
However, I doubt you will be disappointed, the Epic 6wt rod I have is a joy to cast and a good fish puts a bent from but to tip,
Currently looking into a 8 wt, perhaps for Xmas.

Cool. What I've been reading in testfires and reviews is they feel great when playing fish and are great for short to medium distance casting but lack power to really punch out with big heavy/bulky flies....I know that's not you're objective with the 6 but do you feel it may be lacking in that regard?

Was going to buy one, but my local sport store did me a great deal on another brand.

I can cast heavy bead head woolly buggers, no problem with my 6wt, can't see the 8 wt having a problem, unless you getting into really big flys, more suited to Spey casting,
I am currently steelhead fishing, on the Skenna river British Columbia, first Spey casting lesson yesterday, they use much bigger flys and much heavier gear, than I have ever used before.

Have a Sage Method 7wt with hardy reel and numerous spools that I don't need and could be your answer, will cast anything from a small dry to a heavy beaded lure, if of interest PM me.

@stickle7 thanks for the offer but I'm just looking at upgrading my current 8wt rod that I use on the Tongariro.. I have a nice 6wt for my local water.
