    Finally

    Went for a fish yesterday. I have been trying to catch a decent Snapper for a while now surfcasting. Don't get me wrong I have caught a good number of Snapper but nothing that etches into the memory bank as a bloody good fish, most of them being 1.5 - 3kg. Well all that changed yesterday. A good fishing mate asked me during the week to see if I was keen, I also got a text from another mate to go Hunting and my Old man asked if I wanted to go to Stock car Champs. Decisions. So I went to Qualifying with the old man on Friday and fishing took top place for Saturday. The results. 5.8kg Snapper. Bloody happy.

    That's a bloody nice snapper alright.

    Catching ANY fish off the beaches around here would be memorable for us.

    Even the Boaties are seeing lean pickings

    Looks like I might have to start thinking about that trip to mokau again seeing I haven't managed to get there yet, haven't caught a decent fish for god knows how long last decent battle I had while surfcasting was that eagle ray I caught at kawhia surf beach.

    Took my daughter fishing for the first time yesterday. Shes two in march. First fish ever was a snapper all beit 40mm long

    Ha. I think it's been hard fishing every where at the moment. Hopefully the tide is turning. Sounds like the boats (cheats) are starting to get a few fish up here now.
