    Frewza Boats

What is the ride quality like in these boats compared to others? Does the pontoon style make them a bit more slappy and harsh or do they cut through nicely? Particularly looking at around the F16 fisher size. They look to be well priced practical boats which would suit the family but looking at options.

    Thanks

All the pontoon boats suffer from being “a bit slappy” but offer great stability. Frewza and Stabicraft are very similar and have built solid reputations. Best thing to do is go for a ride in one and see what you think. Some people luv them some not so much. I been down this track recently looking for 5m fishing ali boat and narrowed my choice down to Stabicraft (or Frewza) or Surtees. And being a tight arse did not want to pay for new. Bought a 4.85 Surtees for a really good price. Would have been equally happy with a Stabicraft if one came up at the right price.

Of the pontoon boats Senator,Kiwicraft and osprey are some of the softest riding while stabi and frewza are a bit more stabil at rest but a bit harder riding.

Frewza built by the guy Frew, I think. I understand he once worked for Stabi. I have a 509 Stabicraft and thought it was the bees knees. My mates Profile, supposedly another breakaway (from Senator) , leaves my Stabi for dead as far as comfort is concerned. That said, I got caught out in 40 knots plus in my original Stabi 430 and the 509 has brought me in over 4.5m swells at Bowentown.

I've the Frewza 535 which is the F16 stretched another 400mm, rides as well as any pontoon boats I've been in around that size, terrific little boat for what I use it for and comfortable fishes 4 pulling blue cod etc.
Mine is mainly used off the North Otago coast and handles the predominant conditions fine, bloody hard boat to beat for the price.
