eels n catfish....other trout more likely,or the few remaining koura down deep.... the guts of trout will dissapear pretty darn quickly.my vote goes to gut while still out in boat and let nature get rid of/reuse the bits you dont want,dont forget to get black,bloodline out of top of gut cavity...if onshore dig hole in sand...decent amount deep,more than 6" like.... the only time we ever had issue doing this in much smaller lake was the eels coming in would end up on our worm lines..but by same token so did more than a few brownies,who are known to like a bit of cannibalism at any given opportunity .
but if you really want to be "tidy Kiwi" you can fit a lot of trout guts in a bread bag....and wash trout out well ,just dont drop it over the side..a 10ltr bucket to scoop up water to wash fish inside boat,then tip out again is better than fish over the side LOL
