    Killwell 9089

    Inherited a Killwell 9089 fly rod and was after suggestions for a reel and line in the mid to low price range. Experience 1/10. Thanks.

    look on rod itself...it will have a AFTMA rating...possibly 6/7 or 8/9 that tells you what weight of line you need....never seen need for super expensive reel..trademe will have plenty cheap enough...there is also plenty of cheap lines on there as well....... no reason to break the bank to get started...

    the numbers mean a 9ft rod that swings an 8 or 9 weight line, i think? buy cortland fly line they are the best, reel not so important.
